FAQ: How long after having a medication abortion can a woman become pregnant?

None of the three medication abortion methods have been shown to have any long term impact on women's health or fertility. Most women will ovulate within two or three weeks after the abortion. Thus, a woman can become pregnant within weeks of having a medication abortion and immediate use of an effective family planning method is highly recommended.
